Micro,

PLYCF just did two of them in two days. CC's are pretty slick, they have another company handle all the incoming calls. They give everyone a number to call in advance, and you give them your name and basic info.

Then everyone is pretty much put on hold until it starts, and the guys in charge can lecture for a while, give info updates and company status - sort of like a big lecture, where all the callers are put on mute.

Then questions are posed to the moderator, and the company guys select callers to be put 'on the air'. Then they answer them, and everyone gets to listen in. It can do a lot for shareholder confidence to finally hear the CEO and get an idea of what he's all about.

Hope this helps - cheers.

micro -- Investor conference calls are open to ALL shareholders, not only institutions or funds (this is standard procedure for all companies, large and small)...

The management team presenting can choose one of two options before the call: (1) take questions from investors, or (2) make a presentation without taking questions from investors... The first option is standard but the second would not be highly unusual...

In the event the management team announces they will be taking investor questions, a moderator on the call asks each investor calling in initially to say his/her name and affiliation (if any) on a recorded message with the investor's telephone number from which the call is being placed... Investors are all on mute while management is speaking so there are no interruptions... Management then takes calls one at a time and only that investor asking the question can be heard... Management either selects which calls to take (based on the initial investor information when joining the call), or asks the moderator to take questions in the order received (until they have run out of the designated time and finish the call)...

Disruptive callers who do not have legitimate questions are either cut off or not allowed to ask follow on questions... These parameters usually work reasonably well for all parties...

Hope this answers your question.

Tom
