SRM,

First let me apologize for leaving grammatical errors in my post. It was a drive by post and I didn't take time to check it. My bad. I will try to keep it coherent in the future.

I don't know if they have been in contact with NeoMedia but I do know that OmniVision, who holds the patents and is the parent company of CDM stated in their most recent investors conference at Morgan Stanley that they are seriously thinking about licensing WFC instead of being the sole provider of the technology. I mention this because you refer to my previous posts about WFC and its potential uses beyond just the camera phone market. By licensing the technology, anyone will be able to market a WFC solution and the potential products are innumerable. I have had previous conversations with the IR guy at OmniVision so I will ask him if there has been contact made and let you know what he says. If OmniVision does license WFC technology, than other image sensor manufacturers with varied client bases will have WFC technology available to all of their customers. I like the prospects of that scenario. It potentially means that all camera phones will have a WFC option instead of just the ones in OmniVisions client list.

At any rate, I will pass the information along to IR and let you know what they say, if anything.

J

Here is a link to the Morgan Stanley Investor Conference anyone cares to listen.

Also,

Did anyone notice the UPS commercial today that mentioned smart codes (they look like a QR code with an RFID tag imbedded?). If nothing else, people will see QR codes and start to recognize them as "smart codes" even if they aren't the same codes put out by UPS. One of the things that has concerned me in the past is how the word would get out once the registry became operable. Something like this will expose people to the codes and make them more recognizable when they are everywhere in the near future. IMO.
