this is exactly correct, AND the Hong Kong version was only aired in a limited area in mainland china (the area immediately around HK). The AAGH version of WWTBAM is approved by the PRC and will be aired on THE major network owned by the PRC which runs throughout basically the entirety of china.
So, for all intents and purposes, the peoples of china have never seen WWTBAM.
