Your think KBLB will be different?

It is quite likely that KBLB’s first offering will be a limited edition heavily blended item, like a 90/10 cotton/DS hoodie. Or a 95/5 blend. First question: will KBLB give advanced warning or just open up the Spydasilk website for business? I’m hoping for a marketing campaign. That would give us 3 to 6 months notice about sales.

The 2016 moon parka was a prototype. Their first products launched in 2019. This fall Spiber will have several different offerings from 5 different manufacturers. Their scale up so far has taken about 4 years, with covid being a significant factor in their scale-up plans.

KBLB ought to start with a prototype, then a product announcement, then a launch. This is the right way to generate interest in one’s new product. Who knows what KBLB will actually do. I hope they follow Spiber’s lead.

KBLB will also go thru a scale-up phase. It may be faster than Spiber, or the same, or slower. But be honest. Wouldn’t you feel better about KBLB if it had announced/produced/sold like Spiber instead of having zero announcements/sales?

<< spiber "rolled out" the moon parka in 2015....then rolled it out again in 2019.. >>

KBLB hasn't produced enough spider-ish silk to make ONE moon parka, let alone enough for two rollouts.

<< so 8 yrs of "rolling out" is standard?... >>

It is a lot better than 14+ years of "doubling" and "scaling" and producing (essentially) nothing....
