There was FDA approved clinical trials in 2006 by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals - and ITV-1 isn't a FDA approved drug.
"ITV-1 is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or by any comparable regulatory agencies elsewhere in the world. Feb 8, 2023"
From clinicaltrials.gov we find:
"An Extension Study to Protocol VIR-NCHR-01 to Assess the Antiretrovirological Properties of a Therapeutic HIV Vaccine Candidate Based on Recombinant Fowlpox Virus (rFPV) (ITV Extension Study)"
The study started in September 2002.
Sponsor: Kirby Institute
Collaborators: The University of New South Wales Virax Pty. Ltd,
Kirby Institute is no longer investigating ITV-1 obviously it failed to mitigate HIV in any way where they would commit any resources for more research.
"Global clinical trials led by the Kirby Institute have been instrumental in developing the range of HIV drugs now available and determining the best way to use them in clinical practice."
So Kirby is still heavily involved in drugs to treat HIV.
