I do not see any bankruptcy filing in AMC's immediate future. I see AA diluting the shares and paying down a ton of the debt to dramatically reduce the cost side of the Income Statements and shore up the Balance Sheet. If that happens the bondholders will be satisfied. But, if at any point AA believes that the bondholders would take action to force a Chapter 7 liquidation then I would expect AA and AMC to file for Chapter 11 reorganization, which would allow the company to continue to operate while a workout is negotiated and approved by the BK Court. But I believe it far more likely that AMC will issue new shares to pay down a ton of the debt load, and that would take BK totally off the table.
