#62721 RE: chklingon #62718

As I said demographic that drives Teslas are alot less likely to get into accidents whichever vehicle they drive. This only covers deaths but it shows a stark contrast based on education and socioeconomic status. Here I thought this was common knowledge. But hey, we can just give Tesla all the credit. Kind of like saying Autopilot is safer per mile driven when it forces drivers to pay attention and intervene because it knowingly glitches. Cant afford to get distracted or your Tesla on AP, may slam into a pulled over vehicle.

In relative terms, adjusted death rates were 2.4 (95% CI: 1.7, 3.0) times higher at the bottom of the education distribution than at the top in 1995, increasing to 4.3 times higher (95% CI: 3.4, 5.3) by 2010. Inequality increases were larger in terms of vehicle-miles traveled. Although overall MVA death rates declined during this period, socioeconomic differences in MVA mortality have persisted or worsened over time.
