I'd say it's worth the $$ for convenience then, in your case! I uploaded the original docusign with the brokerage statements attached as my supporting documentation. After I cleared it up with customer service they sent the Medallion guarantees quickly- same day. Seemed like a good service even though not cheap. Compared to 10s of thousands of $ it will be cheap! Haha.
I'm still tusslin' with Fidelity though. The rascals. It's their fault I'm not on the first batch and maybe not even the second! I'm already FULLY loaded on MSSV, but the whole otc is just begging for my money. If some other stocks stay down the money will certainly be pumped into the market... but just as the rest of us, I'm eager to see it happen.
