First, if NDSU had the rights to produce the compound,

Wrong - they only have a patent on a method of producing CHS. Read the patent.

how can CRTG pretend that the CHS is theirs?

Coretec can 'pretend' that CHS made utilizing their IP is theirs, because who elses would it be? It is theirs.

To Produce a product, then license it out means they are either holding the patent for the Inventor of others, or have patented the CHS and production methods by themselves?

You're close - it is the last part. "patented the CHS production method by themselves". Note I took out the "and", which would imply there is a patent on CHS. There isn't. Further, they aren't producing a product to license it out, they are producing CHS to sell it. There could be instances in the future where CHS enables a product that Coretec is able to patent, the recent quantum dot/LED light patent for example but the real cash cow will simply be the sale of CHS in my opinion.

By the way, you seem not able to see the handwriting on the wall. or you would have vamoosed this Co' a while back!

Nope, the writing on the wall has to do with a patent pending on CHS production, an number of utilizations of CHS in new and required technologies like batteries and computer chips, and two highly regarded research institutions looking into the usefulness of CHS in these cutting edge industries. I'll stick around and see what happens.

You have a habit of posting your conspiracy theories and easily debunked claims about CHS 'belonging' to NDSU, and then disappearing for a time, only to come back with the same old worn out claims. It gets tiring. Still, I will change my mind if shown I am wrong. Just get the patent on CHS and post it here. I will change my mind and believe you.

I will not again respond to hate and ignorance!!!

Now you're just being weird.

You don't think that products have a patent lifetime, well I'll give you just one example of quite a few! The Company Multicell Biopharmas lay dormant for a few years, maybe due to the very old CEO who ran it! At least 2 Companies obtained a number of Medicinal products of MCETs and never looked back? How and why I don't know, but they did it! There is a reason behind the 14-17 year agreement with the USPTO!

I will not again respond to hate and ignorance!!!

This is not an example or a patent that EXPIRED, and then was renewed. Patents last 20 years, then expire. Anyone can search the net to see this is true. You are wrong yet again.

Copy/paste from patenttrademarkblog.com

Can a patent be renewed?

No, you cannot renew a patent in the US. Technically speaking, US utility patents are maintained, not renewed. The connotation of patent maintenance is that there is an end to the patent term, whereas “renewal” implies an indefinite term that continues indefinitely. Patents cannot go on forever, not in the US or anywhere else. As long as you understand that patents will expire, then “patent renewal” may be considered a layman’s term for the more technical term of patent maintenance. Patents cannot be renewed once their terms expire.
When are patent maintenance deadlines?

After a utility patent is granted, there are a total of three maximum maintenance fees that must be paid to keep the issued patent alive:

First maintenance fee: due at 3.5 year anniversary;
Second maintenance fee: due at 7.5 year anniversary; and
Third maintenance fee: due at 11.5 year anniversary.

What if a maintenance fee deadline is missed?

It is possible to pay a late patent maintenance fee with a penalty surcharge as long as you’re still within the 6-month grace period.
How much are patent maintenance fees?

For a small entity (e.g., company with fewer than 500 employees), the USPTO patent maintenance fees are:

1st maintenance fee: $800
2nd maintenance fee: $1,800
3rd maintenance fee: $3,700

Notice how the cost of each successive maintenance fee increases in price. Our firm charges flat rates for paying maintenance fees and filing patent and trademark applications.
How to maintain a patent

Design patents require no maintenance, so only utility patents have maintenance deadlines. The proper maintenance fee must be paid in the 6-month window ending upon the deadlines outlined above. Maintenance fees may electronically paid through the USPTO website.
If you can’t renew patents, then how can you prolong patent rights?

If you cannot renew a patent, are there ways to extend or prolong patent rights? You cannot reapply for the same invention covered in an existing patent. You can, however, file patent applications for improvements and modifications. The extent of your changes will determine whether your new patent application will be considered non-obvious over prior patents.

QBS.... QS, It is disturbing that you know so little, but post so boldly!

I can admit there is a lot I don't know, but I am able to search the internet and find two or three websites with information that mutually agrees and draw a conclusion that perhaps that information is accurate. You come on the board time and again with a contention there is a patent on CHS. We're waiting for a link or a copy/paste of the patent text... watcha got?
