Not really sure about that. I think they took the small settlement here because it was essentially in motion and why not take the win and get a few $$.
I could be wrong, but I don't think their strategy going forward would be to sue and or settle for such small amounts of $$. In my opinion, it would devalue the IP. I think they took the bird in the hand here as a means to fund ongoing expenses while they wait on the appeal.
