spoke and austin: Did you ever consider that a DVD release in the middle of the southern hemisphere's summer might hurt theater attendance.

I don't know the reasons, I'm just speculating. My point is simply that some people see everything NV does as negative, even when it is orchestrated by a very successful company like Artisan. I would think that if you had an objective bone in your body that you would at least give Artisan the benefit of the doubt.

Complain about the tech if you want but give the movie a rest until you see if what they projected happens.

spoke - you know i hate nit-picking, but if you want to go there read the quote you posted again. it says: " "The film is scheduled to run in US theaters through the end of year, when the DVD is scheduled to be released. "

with " through " being the key word here, meaning past christmas and past the end of the year and into the next year.

now don't get me wrong, there's plenty to complain about here. but going through every word in every press release or communication from the company seems like a huge waste of time to me.

if you simply back away and look at the larger picture when it comes to this debate over the timing of the release of the DVD you'll see there's very few questions and the answers should be very obvious.

since artisian owns the distribution rights to the movie is it their or NVEI's decision as to when the DVD is released? and since it seems the DVD release schedule is in the hands of artisian why blame NVEI for it?

artisian distributes movies for a living. who amoung us has the experience in that field to question their schedule?

both artisian and NVEI are involved in this movie to make money. why would either entity do anything other than what they think and their experience tells them will be the most profitable avenue? and more pointedly, why would artisian delay the release of the DVD until after christmas if they thought they would make more money if they released it before?
