My thoughts on basting,

When I was young my dad always basted the turkey on Thanksgiving. It was a moment to check the bird and inhale that wonderful smell and help out a little while basting the turkey.

I passed it down to our son when he was little and I'm sure he'll do the same. Of course he'll first have to tear himself away from sports and actually ask a girl out on a date. ;-)
