Are you looking at any companys which are activly persueing the use of different types of algea or microbes for the disposal, breakdown, or conversion of heavy metal type contamination? Here in PA we have a town, located above a vast coal deposit which has been burning for over 100 years.
Scientists are discovering some very interesting life forms living off of and in, these very inhospitable environs. The old Bethlehem Steel site is loaded with heavy metal contamination. In fact I believe it is towards the top of the "Super Fund" Clean-Up Site list. I am almost sure someone is going to come up with a way to utilize the very tiny but numerous, to clean-up very large and expensive areas. Do you have any candidates on your list, if I may ask? You could PM me if you do!
