I would agree with you wholeheartedly if I thought shareholders were being heard. The mom and pop investors who once formed the foundation of stock ownership in both Fannie and Freddie are still here but any voice that is being herd today is from the big hedge managers and not us peons. The wife and I (mom and pop investors, for sure) own more shares than the typical small potatoes investor (a dozen or so of whom I know) but we are no more than a voice in the desert. If there was any blind justice in the country and shareholders could find it, I might have a bit more confidence. But a country that would let the small guy be used and abused like the shareholders of Fannie and Freddie have experienced might not be MY country any more. Looks like the dregs of society have quietly pushed us aside.
