I believe most owners of f&f shares are longs some of them even for years. So, where a daily volume come from? I believe that there is only a certain part of the whole float which is trading on the daily base, so all the buying, selling, shorting is made with only some % of the float. So once this will start to rise a short squezze could be dramatically.
