In my opinion, the bid at the level you point out means:

1. There are investors who are interested in this company and are anxious to participate
2. The MMs' are heavily interested in the shares at their price in addition to covering their short positions
3. The fact is that there were over 17MM shares exchanged today, which in my opinion, cleared out a substantial segment of day traders
4. If you can do some DD about the volume of sale this shares have produced in the past 18-months, you will also see a pattern by which the MMs' manipulate the PPS at every stage.
