I think a valuation of market cap is really difficult, at this point. Without any sense of what the company is doing we are just guessing. For me to put a value on the company I would need to see some kind of revenue. If there were such a thing then with an O/S of ~4 billion, an ANNUALIZED revenue of ~$1 million would suggest a $0.0025 all the way up to $0.01 or 0.02 with an annualized revenue of $4 million. I think they need to show dollars coming INTO the company (along with the potential to do so from orders, etc.) in order to get an estimation of value that could be reflected in "market cap". There is a broad range between the above values and Chapter 11 which is indeed a possibility to our thinking and especially without a report on their financial status.
I wonder if the author of your quite recent referenced article actually spoke with Bates. If so, that is the first peep out of him in a long time and would indicate that he is still alive, at least!
