I agree, I actually hope for the same. The company could use a 3 day weekend to market, hopefully good financials to everyone. You won't be a "onebrokemama" come Monday in that case, lol.

Is anyone concerned the financials could be disastrous?

Releasing financials after hours before a long weekend seems like an odd time to release good news. I would think most people won't see it until Monday so why not release Monday morning?

IMO the reason to do this would be to give the market time to digest the bad news and prevent a massive selloff.
