#6028 RE: Justin C #6027

Thank you!!! Justin C...

You just put a big smile on my face. I've been living alone since 1977... It's the only way of life for me. Occasionally I think of what it would be like to have someone in my life... find myself having trouble breathing at the thought. ;-) One of the reasons I like doing things myself is that I am not dependent on anyone else's schedule. Leads to far fewer disappointments.

no longer drink beer... you've got a head start on me there... I find myself slowing down with age. I love the taste of Budweiser... true American peasant here... but the pleasant side effects are not so pleasant any more. Too tiring. All in good time.

I have to be careful about wishing away my daily commute. Layoffs are imminent in my place of business. Right now I need the income. I got off to a very late start as far as financial responsibility goes. Too busy having fun with the arts in NYC. Guess I had to grow "old" sometime... Still haven't grown up though. Part of my dubious charm.

Cooking: stove top range, down to one of two coils in the broiler... I broil a lot. Oven still works which is good. Occasionally I like to go all out... turkey with real wild rice dressing and a mushroom onion casserole that must be baked with the turkey for full flavor. Tasty. I tend to do minor quantities of meat at a time and live on the leftovers. Good thing I eat to live and not live to eat or I would get very tired of my chosen cuisine.

Buicks: The only way to travel in my book. My ancient LeSabre is the perfect size for someone my height... wish they would make them a little bigger though. Car is reliable. I'm at about 173,500 miles right now. Getting the oil changed next weekend (every 3000 miles) along with having the tires rotated (every 6000 miles). If there are no surprise major maintenance jobs found, think I am going to buy myself a chest of drawers. Been living with my clothes stored in two bookcases since I moved into the house (2-1/2 years ago)... got rid of the platform bed that served as a dresser as well. No sense rushing out to spend money.

And thank you for the kind words about my "daily journal"... the product of someone who lives alone who also likes to talk. <ggg>

Got to get ready to run the day's errands so I can hide from the heat for the rest of the day. Enjoy the weekend.

Justin C... Nice to meet ya... It sounds as if you have it all figured out pretty well.

If my beloved dies before me... I will be alone for the rest of my life... by choice.

I am too hard to live with and I have a strong dislike of most humans these days. I consider myself lucky to have as many close friends as I do as the selection of worthwhile peoples on this planet seams to be getting worse by the day.

Just My Observation & Opinion!
