NEW YORK, Jun 15, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) --
Crude oil on the New York Mercantile Exchange approached $70 per barrel as
energy futures staged a broad-based rally Thursday.

High-quality crude for July delivery rose 41 cents to hit $69.55 per barrel,
and natural gas was up 61 cents to $7.20 per million Btu.

Heating oil was flat at $1.94 per gallon, and gasoline remained unchanged at
$2.04 per gallon.

Early Thursday AAA said the average U.S. retail price for gasoline was
largely unchanged at $2.896 per gallon.
