Its hard not to go off on a tangent at some point....

Imagine a few years ago, this conversation I had with my wife one day.
It was after that big soaring Fall 2010 rally in metals and miners....and I was a new investor within the previous year or two. I said, "Hey,honey, look at this,our portfolio is up another 12 thousand today, we're up 80 thousand now since we started...." "that's really good,Tommy, you must know what youre doing..."
and I said,"Yeah, this is pretty amazing, these miners, and all, its almost ,unreal...we've just made two years salary....in just a few months....and then, a few months later, I was saying, "hey, you know, these miners, are going down.they've really been going down a lot now. every day.
but it should be ok, don't worry. the worst thing to do right now is to panic."
and she says..."well, I hope you know what youre doing...."

and a few months later I said, "Honey,look at the portfolio, remember when it went up 80 k, and then went all the way down 80k, ...well it now went back up 100 thousand....this is really crazy rollercoaster".... " and she said, "wow, that's really good, Tommy, I guess you know what youre doing..."

and that's how 2011 ended.

2012 ,in the summer, when it looked like a bottom was in for metals and miners....I bought some more.
and then in april 2013 we got punished, and the punishment remains ongoing.

But,by now, at least my wife,understands more , and so now she says, "this whole stock market is so corrupt,it really makes me mad"
and I say, ...."no,no, you cant be riddled with emotion about it, you have to remain calm...".... you have to be very sharp and rational minded"

so it goes like that, and mostly she just tells people at work, that the stock market is corrupt, and the bankers are corrupt, and her coworkers look at her like she's a little bit whacko .

so I 'm happy to see she's made alot of progress .
