The Global IP business went from less than $5B in 1990 to more than $100B in 1999, the last year that data is available.
Most companies, however, do not have a pure IP model.

Here is a partial list of companies which generate significant royalty income and which are at various stages of maturity.

IBM - TTM revenues of $83B, TTM royalties of around $1.2B-$1.5B

QCOM - TTM revenues of $3.8B, TTM royalties of around $800M+

INGR - TTM revenues of $502M, recent victory vs Intel currently on appeal so royalty run rate estimates are still too soft.

ARMHY - TTM revenues of $241M, TTM royalties/license fees of around $241M

RMBS - TTM revenues of $102M, TTM royalties/license fees of around $102M
