Money is an issue, but for the following reason (imo). Why spend the money now when every big retailer is offering 40-60% off during the holidays? How do you compete with that being a small company? The money spent during the holiday to compete with these big retailers would not pay off. So I believe the commercial will air most likely a few weeks after the holiday season is over. Which hopefully will result in a much larger bang for the buck. I have thought this through and it seems likely that this is the reason.
