Fuel-Tech N.V. Awarded Multiple NOxOUT(R) Orders Totaling $2.4 Million
Thursday January 19, 7:00 am ET

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2006--Fuel-Tech N.V. (Nasdaq: FTEK - News), a world leader in advanced engineering solutions for the optimization of combustion systems in utility and industrial applications, today announced five orders for NOxOUT® projects totaling $2.4 million. Two of the orders are for NOxOUT® Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction (SNCR) systems, one is for turnkey installation services, while the other two contracts represent NOxOUT SNCR design engineering services.

The first order is for NOxOUT systems for two small coal-fired boilers at a major Southeastern utility, while the second relates to NOxOUT systems for two municipal solid waste incinerators in France. The third order, from a major Southeastern utility alliance partner, is for the turnkey installation of a NOxOUT SNCR system on a 350 megawatt coal-fired boiler. The remaining contracts comprise design engineering services for NOxOUT systems on four coal-fired units at a major Southeastern utility and a single coal-fired unit at a major Southwestern utility.

Steven C. Argabright, President and Chief Operating Officer, commented, "We are very pleased to start the year with announced business from several existing utility customers. In the case of our alliance partner, we fully anticipate additional air pollution control orders in the near future, while the design engineering releases should result in equipment purchases later this year. Overseas, the order in France represents the latest in a steady stream of business being won by our Italian subsidiary, which is capitalizing on expanding European market opportunities."
