They punted the ball out of bounds here. What they could/should have done is raise taxes 2-3%, and then expanded the Medicaid/Medicare program for everyone. They could even tack on a monthly premium of 30-50 bucks a month.

I lived in France for 8 years. Due to being a non working resident I had to purchase health insurance as part of the visa process. I was able to purchase private health insurance, my plan was 900 euros a year, and this included 100% coverage. No copay, no dedeuctable, 100% prescriptions, anything u can think of that u pay for here, was covered on my plan in France, I also had access to private hospitals, and never had a wait for specialists nor do I know anyone who did have to wait, so that is blown out of proportion.

So I don't really want to hear that healthcare is impossible to to make it affordable for people. It's basically a huge scam here and the insurance companies are laughing all the way to the bank.

All in my opinion of course, but my opinions have been formed in real life, not from Fox News :)
