I did some more research on Byron Ryals, the new CEO of MediaG3. He has a background as a missionary with the Navigators and served as the first director of The Lighthouse, which is a ministry of Cadence International for American servicemen and their families located in Yokosuka, Japan. He stared in 1953 and seems to have held that position until about 1969 when new directors were brought in.

I don't know what he did between that position and starting Ryals Communications Engineering. He has been and may still be very active with the Boise Jaycees and complied a book by the Jaycees about the Table Rock Cross, a large lighted cross on Table Rock mountain in Boise. http://www.tablerockcross.com.php53-27.dfw1-2.websitetestlink.com/pages/book/g1/book-table-rock-cross-boise-idaho-26.htm

Two years ago he led the effort to have the lights on the cross changed from fluorescent tubes to individual LED lights.

Ryals appears to be a devout Christian and I wonder if Val used a Christian affinity angle to influence him to invest in MDGC and become its CEO. Early in my participation here, I expressed my concern about there being a Christian affinity aspect in the way Val Westergard attempts to gain the confidence of investors. Indeed, that concern was the primary reason I decided to participate in the discussion.

After making the following post, an investor contacted me. We met in person over a long lunch and she admitted to me that she trusted Val because because of his apparent Christianity. Others have also communicated to me that Val used Christian talk to gain their trust.

When I spoke on the telephone with Val in Feb. last year, he told me that his real goal for MediaG3 was "to spread the gospel throughout the world." From this post I can tell I'm not the only one to whom he's made such comments. I recall reading posts about Val's humanitarian plans for the company on a private chat forum when I first heard about the stock.

Byron is likely well-regarded in the Christian community and the Boise community at large. Although he is not a logical choice to be the CEO of a publicly-traded tech stock, Val may believe that he can bring much-needed credibility to himself and to MediaG3. He may have trusted Val because of an apparent shared faith in God. I doubt he's had much experience with the fraud-filled world of penny stocks -- certainly not as an insider, so probably didn't have the skepticism most people would have given MediaG3's history.

IMO, Byron is probably another of Val Westergard's investor victims. Sadly, Byron agreed to sign the attestation form certifying the data and disclosure information in the annual report as accurate. Because there is so much misinformation and apparent financial fraud, that was unwise if he is a man of integrity as I sense. If there is ever regulatory action against the company, he could end up with some issues with the SEC or, at best, a stain on his good reputation.
