stack: could end up at Transmeta as upfront payment

Among the many mysteries surrounding TMTA these days is the future of the Efficeon chip. It looks like there will likely be a special version(s) of the chip designed for partners such as MSFT. But what of a general purpose E*?

I don't think the company is out of this side of the chip business; rather, out of the business as practiced under Perry. No more producing chips with negative margins! If a company wants E* chips, I think they can get them but only after entering a requirements contract with cash up front.

This is what caught my eye about the OQO financing as it caught yours. It would seem that OQO has done pretty well with its first gen machine and needs to get on with a more up to date unit. They are starting to see competition from eg. the Flybook and the new Fujitsu P1510. A new OQO with an ULV E* and LR2 would seem ideal. This would seem to address the primary complaints of users and reviewers regarding the OQO Model 01: runs a little hot, limited battery life, and somewhat sluggish. Hope that is the plan.

regards, wsh
