People buy iPhones simply because its an iPhone.

Granted if Appl touted the space age material in a market blitz on an upcoming product it would help sales but it would not be the deciding factor to buy one.

For investors it is a win because finally LQMT will have revenue coming on the door.

People will buy iPhones not because the case is made of LM or the screen is OLED, but because its an iPhone...

As a market electronics restrictive product which the general public knows nothing about APPL is free not to use it maybe until the cost becomes more cost competitive (if that is the barrier to market entry) or until they decide which so far hasn't been forthcoming.
