Noble withdrew because they did not want to left carrying indiginous companies who either could not or would not pay when called upon to do so. Noble would have a work program schedule to keep and would have to continue, regardless of not receiving the money from deadbeat Nigerians. Then, all of a sudden when the drilling results are good, the local Nigerian who was broke yeserday has got the money to pay his way and keep his piece. That's how they play this game. Noble realized that the indiginous companies were going to make such a scene out of having to give up their piece if they did not put up credit backing on day 1 for the work program that they did the only reasonable thing a US public company who takes its fiduciary responsibilities to shareholders seriously could do. This had absolutely nothing to do with ERHC
