There are other choices. He/They could give an update to the effect that "While we are working towards getting the matter at hand resolved, KMAG is still working on developing new products, presenting solutions to potential customers etc"
A PR like this can go a long way to showing us there is life, and put our minds somewhat at ease. No communication at all is just plain uneasy, no matter how much I believe in the company.
