I can't understand why NEOM wouldn't want those relationships with the SP's/Carriers. There, on the cell's when people buy, right in front of them. No needing Yahoo or Google. We saw the demo from Yahoo. No searching. Navigating. With keywords and zip codes. Granted, keywords are not patented and anyone can use them. But that's the point they can be used on anyone's browser/page to search. Why not put Paperclick right in front of the user/consumer? Simple.

It would take a lot of advertising by NEOM, lot's of $$$$$, to advertise to the public to get them to download. I understand if anyone wants to use the tech patented by NEOM they will have to pay a licensing fee, but wouldn't there be more money in it for NEOM to license out AND get the consumer to use Paperclick? So what if they have to kick-back to the SP's IF and WHEN the consumer uses Paperclick.

I wouldn't want the consumer to have to choose if it were my product. Just like consumer's don't have to choose when they buy a computer. Bill Gates is right there with Windows not giving anyone the chance to pick and choose.

The more work the consumer has to do the more hassle it becomes for them and the more they will just choose the easiest way out.

Just my 2 cents. We are creatures of habit. We are in the habit of logging on to our computers and getting connected. No thinking required. If NEOM can continue everyone's habit on a cell, no thinking, just using Paperclick, they've got it made.

I think what stood out to me the most in Tonguehair's correspondants with his friend is this; With everyone vying for this new tech, (Internet thru cell and the advertising $$$ it will bring), it would not be in anyone's best interest to be fashionably late to this party. It was urgency that stood out to me in those e-mails. It was urgency I felt when I saw the Yahoo demo.

I think NEOM has shown vision and understanding of where we are headed in wireless with it's vested interest in iPoint, aquiring Mobot, its patents on their tech. I trust they understand the importance of being the first to the party with the coolest new technology so everyone stops at the door to take a look and they aren't lured away by 'old' names like Yahoo and Google.

Again, just looking at it from a consumer's point of view. Whoever gets the consumer to make a habit of their product first is the winner.
