True enough. But surely you see the symmetry between a stock buyback program and selling puts. What 3Com did was no different than a company buying back its stock and having it go lower. Most on this board think, given the NOK result and prospects for further 3G licensees that the stock should be trading at 20 or higher. I would hope the company would be willing to buy stock at 15 should it get there. Selling 1/07 17.5 puts for 2.5 accomplishes that. If we tread water or go higher, they keep the 2.5 bucks. The sale of puts by the company would send a powerful message, one opposite that sent by the insider selling, planned or otherwise. I'm shocked that no one else on this board agrees. I'm going to bed.
