Shares of Learning Tree (LTRE) have spiked 21% to $5.14 and have touched a day high $5.50 as SeekingAlpha reported that the education and training services company received a buyout offer from CEO David Collins and interested parties for $5.25 a share. A letter to the board proposes a two-step merger.

LTRE shares have a 52-week range of $4.00 - $9.00.
