FYI John

Hope this response from Mark answers some of the questions out there ...

Hi (I'm blind copying a few of you on this as it's the same question) -- Please share this if necessary, but the reason you do not see Mike The Pike Productions registered at AFM on IFTA website or otherwise is because the BUYERS, SALES AGENCIES AND DISTRIBUTORS are the ones representing the products--- we are not a sales agency or a distribution company. We are a production company....and the only production companies you see listed are listed as such because they also have distribution arms, etc. (Miramax, Lions Gate). For example-- Saint James Films is NOT registered at AFM-- but our distributor, TomCat Films, IS--- and you'll see our films (Lizzie Borden, Captain Battle, etc.) listed as TomCat's offerings because they are the distributor. For White Space and Skin Trade (and a few others to be discussed) under the Mike The Pike Productions banner, we are only entertaining sales agents and distributors--- When you don't see films listed on http://www.thefilmcatalogue.com/catalog/, it's not because they don't exist, it's because those films are listed BY distributors; they are acquired already. We have not accepted any offers on our films under the mike the pike productions banner yet with very good reason. We've had inquiries from all kinds-- Just a theoretical example--- what if Syfy channel made an offer for White Space. We take it because they are big...then, that night, you receive an email from IM Global or Cinetic Media (larger more prominent libraries) wanting to see a trailer or rough cut of footage. Then what? We've sold ourselves short. It's unfortunate we were not able to do this groundwork at Cannes; Again, shareholders have every right be excited and inquisitive- but know that we as Producers have slaved since March 2011 on this project-- there are investors with large sums of monies in this and many careers can be affected in many ways by the right sale/distribution agreement/relationship. The film is not done, there's nothing else to say about that. It's an effects driven feature film-- It's not a Saint James film and it's not a comedy or drama. I expected this with very good reason to be done by end of year, but due to disagreements among producers as to what should be done with the final edit as well as a creative/financial decision to increase VFX (visual effects) shots, it's taken months longer. That disappoints no one more than those closest to the project- It's Producers and Investors; but it's a near term disappointment only-- Have you ever had the chance to buy something NOW, but knew that if you waited, though you wouldn't be satisfied this moment, you'd be significantly happier in the long run. It's tough to wait. For all of us. But MIKP is not White Space Productions-- It's Mike The Pike Productions-- and we have a lot going on right now and have made tremendous strides in continuing to build and position our brand. Everything we do is everything we can do within our control to be the best possible company-- day in and day out-- and that's all I can promise anyone. I have learned my lessons well in terms of issuing dates and expectations to anyone on anything I don't have in hand. 6-8 months on White Space was an educated guess. It's all I'll give on that. But rest assured, be it 3 months or 1 year, that time frame I am answering in regards to is a final, fully-finished feature film, immediately available for distribution/exhibition. We could 'sell' the film today. We don't want to. And if you see the big picture here, neither do you. In the meantime, we're producing, acquiring and selling other films, successfully and we're actively developing/packaging The Skin Trade-- based on George R.R. Martin's award winning novella--- He's the hottest author in the world right now with HBO's most successful series ever. The Executive Producer of that show (Game of Thrones), is working directly with us to ensure the best possible outcome for Skin Trade. and SO MUCH MORE.
