1. horror has always been more forgiving for effects if the setup and gasp and solid.
2. ParaActy is riding the reality-TV shooting fad that Blair Witch iconified.

WS is a space drama. and the bar for space drama effects has been pressing higher every big film since Star Wars, not mention dozens of TV series like Star Trek NG.

if the WS effects look sparse or amateur, the marketing value of the film is lower.
for ParaActy, if the camera shakes a bit too much, it's a feature.
