Shire / Other buyout rumors:
I am with jq and think it more likely Shire goes on a shopping spree not necessarily to avoid being acquired either. The one article mentioned a 40% premium for them seemed rich but what do I know I would love to see it, that would mean BMRN deserves that much higher a premium.

I thought a dark horse to go after BMRN would be ALXN. I don't think they would because it would be a bit too big of a deal especially after coming off a big deal. However they did spend a lot for an ERT company and their paper is pretty high priced and would be a good way to fuel more growth. I don't get the sense management thinks their stock is high priced though (from comments when they did their last deal and issued debt).
