MicroStrategy and Patrick Cantlay Sign Multi-Year Global Brand Ambassador Partnership

Young Golfing Sensation Begins Relationship with MicroStrategy at AT&T National PGA Tournament

TYSONS CORNER, Va., June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, is proud to announce that 20 year-old Patrick Cantlay, the world's #1 ranked amateur golfer when he turned professional last week, has become MicroStrategy's first Global Brand Ambassador. Under the terms of the multi-year partnership, Cantlay will represent MicroStrategy in a wide range of marketing and customer activities, and will wear MicroStrategy logos in premier locations on the front of his headwear and apparel during all professional tournament play and appearances.

Cantlay had a spectacular amateur golf career, ranking #1 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings for a record 55 weeks. In his freshman year at UCLA, Cantlay won four college tournaments and was honored with the Jack Nicklaus Award, the Phil Mickelson Award, the Haskins Award, and the Mark H. McCormack Medal. Last month, Cantlay was the recipient of the prestigious Ben Hogan Award, honoring the player with the most outstanding collegiate and amateur record, making him the second youngest winner in the award's history. Cantlay also represented the U.S. in the 2011 Walker Cup where he posted a 2-1-1 record.

Cantlay has already demonstrated success on the PGA Tour, making the cut in all three major championships in which he has competed, including low amateur finishes at the 2011 U.S. Open and 2012 Masters Tournament. In 2011, he placed in the top 25 in four of his five PGA Tour starts, and made history in the second round of the Travelers Championship by shooting 60, the lowest round ever posted by an amateur in a PGA Tour event.

"We are pleased and delighted to welcome Patrick as MicroStrategy's first Global Brand Ambassador," said Michael J. Saylor, chairman and CEO of MicroStrategy. "Patrick's incredible focus, work ethic, and drive to be the best in the world are traits we admire. We look forward to our new partnership and to Patrick's continued success on the PGA Tour."
"I admire MicroStrategy's commitment to excellence and am proud and excited to be joining their team," said Cantlay. "MicroStrategy has established itself as the leader in its field, making them a perfect partner as I begin my career."
