Truth rarely matters to the left

I must confess that I was taken aback this week by an article in Canada Free Press entitled, “Black School Kids Take Bat to Piñata Shaped Like White Woman, Media Yawns,” by Warner Todd Huston. My curiosity was piqued, so I had to read it. And what I read has left me stunned . . . and angry.

In a program event for grade school kids sponsored by the University of Memphis, school kids were given the opportunity to take a stick and hit a piñata shaped like a white woman. All I could think while reading this was, “What the hell?” Where are you Al Sharpton? Where are you Jesse Jackson? Where are you NOW? Obama, do you have anything to say about this? After all, don’t you claim to be half white?

This is yet another example of the Leftist double standard that has permeated the media. Where are the media outlets? If the piñata had been shaped like a black woman, half of Memphis would be burning as we speak and Al, Jesse, and half of Washington and their packs of race baiters would’ve weighed in by now. I can hear Frederica Wilson (D-FL) in a voice that would put Aunt Bee to shame, “This poor black piñata was targeted . . . hunted down like a rabid dog . . .”

Supposedly, the theme of the party was an Hawaiian luau and the piñata was supposed to be a hula girl. Are you buying this? What does a piñata have to do with a luau? Of course, university officials have expressed regret, yada yada. I find this incident to be highly offensive, yet, oh yeah, white people don’t have feelings. We’re just supposed to overlook it and take the high road.

What I also find disconcerting is this: What do the children think now about racism? Did anybody learn anything? Tell the truth.
