That's what I had to re-read a few times. It sounds unreal. BUT, it was selected mining, which means good yielding ground was mined for testing on purpose. It would make sense to mine this area first for the biggest yield so they could pay off any debts and have a positive working capital, which wouldn't be hard to do if the area is that plentiful.
