Charlie.

I don't yet know where I'm going with this, but I thought I'd start with a post from Yahoo:

Here is the response I got from a letter I sent to NYS AG office, in reference to the Nokia cartel and price fixing.
The Attorney General has asked me to thank you for your recent letter and for making us aware of your concerns about Nokia Corporation.

Your correspondence has been forwarded to the appropriate members of our staff. I am sure that your comments will be of interest to them. We will keep them in mind during any discussions we may have on this issue.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write and for sharing your concerns.

We all know Spitzer's reputation for catching big fish. And he has openly admitted that his highly unusal success has often started with a "tip". But unless he has the right bait, VSerf's correspondence will probably go unheeded.

Vserf's frustration, however, is a reminder that this is not a protracted battle of titans, involving the likes of General Electric or Proctor and Gamble.

And the difference is not that Nokia is a Finnish company, or that Ollila is a tough guy, playing loose with his company's piggy bank. And it has little to do with shysters.

IP CASES ARE TRULY DIFFERENT! And Spitzer's staff may not see that.

IDCC is selling patents, not light bulbs or toilet tissue. And each patent is finite, with some running out next year.

So the issue is time! And running-out the clock is Nokia's game.

I'm sure Spitzer wouild delight in nailing a bully. And, unlike congress, he speaks the same language as the lawyers on this board.

I had little appetite for writing to congress. But I'm intrigued by the prospect of sending a comprehensive letter to Spitzer, with a copy to select politicians.

Although his motives may currently be political, his name still inspires fear in anyone who receives a copy.

Bottom line: If Nokia files to delay, vacate or change the award on Monday, I think we should discuss a Spitzer approach,

while there is still time. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
