"Citigroup asks if it is time for Meritor Inc. (MTOR, $5.04, -$0.22, -4.18%) to consider its future following its stock losing one-third of its value in the past week. Though the auto-part maker's fiscal fourth-quarter results were "fine and the outlook only moderately weaker," Citigroup said the stock's capitulation seems like a vote of no confidence on an operating leverage story that has had many setbacks over the past year. But the investment bank doesn't see "glaring balance-sheet liquidity issues," nor does it think 2012 guidance fundamentally supports a stock price as low as it is. Citigroup said Meritor's best option is a merger with American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. (AXL, $7.70, -$0.05, -0.65%). "
