To send a ground signal to any airborne platform by Laser can cause a problem with anything that may fly into its path. Airborne to Airborne will work as the altitude of the ROA is above any interference of the weather. Like Internet systems we still have to rely and the copper connection or in this application the RF signal. Alot of can be squeezed into a Frequency Band.
