I signed up for the PPG newsletter and just got this in my email.. Better news than usual imo...

Memphis, TN, September 21nd, 2009. Phoenix Power Group LLC is pleased to announce the initiation of durability testing for the Phoenix-10 Waste Oil (Energy) Electrical Generator. Four durability prototype engines are being assembled and will undergo testing at our strategic partner, Cyclone Power Technologies (www.cyclonepower.com ) Pompano Beach, FL facility. This important milestone represents one of the final stages of development of the P-10 and will be immediately followed by a comprehensive emissions study and review by U.L. Selective locations will be announced in late 2011 for the initial pilot studies.

The P-10 is a state-of-the-art generator system that is capable of utilizing waste oil products, such as used motor/equipment oil, to produce electricity reducing the need to purchase electrical power from the utility grid. Utilizing the award-winning, clean burning Cyclone WHE-25 External Combustion Engine, the P-10 generator system is designed to produce 7.5 kWh of electricity.

“The development process has taken longer than anticipated because of the team’s commitment to quality and durability of this state-of-the-art energy technology,” stated PPG’s Vice President Doug Petty. “We are very pleased with the results we are achieving.”

The P-10 is a combination of new and old technology. Other than the engine, which allows the genset to operate with alternative fuels, the components are "off the shelf" items with UL ratings and a history of outstanding performance.

PPG is a privately held company incorporated in the State of Tennessee. Its equity partners include Hansom James Capital, whose principals founded Tennessee-based AIMS Logistics Inc. in 1994, which, when sold to U.S. Bancorp in 2007, employed over 400 people internationally and processed approximately $6 billion annually in freight payables.
