Oh sure, you said you got it from another thread, i didn't think it was yours Terry .... no intention here to 'spit and snarl', quite the contrary actually, hope i didn't give that impression .... only reason i developed an interest in this thread was certain spitting and snarling at Digr that i happened to notice, but i sure wouldn't want to contribute to any ... you're always civil yourself, over on Searle's and the like, so no problema

The ore on a cliff, with a hole beneath to place the concentrator, yes that would work well .... for a very short period only, because you see you'd be reducing the cliff wouldn't you, and filling up the hole .... unless you also move material away from the plant, as well as to the plant, you'll basically just bury the plant real fast ... eh

I'm no miner either, but i have moved dirt, more than your 100 tons in a day too, with no helper .... just me and my little front end loader -g- .... Claude asked a good question on SI the other day, maybe - To what extent is this old placer material indurated? .... 'hardened up', that means, to a degree that would necessitate milling of some sort to break it up before the concentrator

I'm not convinced that a placer operation in this place would be unable to turn a profit, fwiw ... it would have to be very well managed, and a little luck with hitting sweet spots wouldn't hurt either, but it's possible that a penny-pinching outfit that was well designed and well run and well capitalised could get out enough gold to pay the bills and a little more even .... what i absolutely do not believe, is that 124 tonnes can be broken out, moved, processed efficiently, and then dealt with as tails for 75 dollars US ... not on a regular basis ... that's less than one loonie the tonne, for all operating costs
