To all,
In some of my past post, I've mentioned my experience with Remotely Piloted Vehicles now called UAV's. What everyone seems to be missing is that in order to operate any UAV there is a support staff and equipment needed. You can not just throw it up and let it operate on its own. The Stratalite will need to have some line of sight for the ground crew to position and maintain its station. There will also be a need for these thing to be launched from some sort of airfield and to this date I've not seen mentioned location of assembly, launches and control stations. We had, for one operation, sites placed on mountain top, C-130 aircraft, and ground control. The use of the phone system mentioned that it was big, was the power needed to get the range. A cell phone, although, is powerful enough to get to most site, IMO, does not have the power to reach a stratalite. Wi Max Says 30 miles I think it is line of site. WI Fi I beleive is good within 50 feet.
