I would reccomend those new to reloading inks buy a ready-made reloading kit first...to try.
My canon printer had a 6 year life-span, and saw daily use. For the last 3 years, every cartridge was a reloaded one.
I kept 5 of each used tanks...when the fifth tank was installed I would reload the rest.
I used about 4 reloads each month...but would swap in freshly refilled tanks prior to a photoprint that had large amounts of one particular color or lots of black-areas.
So, 4X12=48...and add 3 extra for special projects, = 51.
Multiply that by 3 years,= 153. Each cartridge new costs at least $35...so 153 X $35= $5355 for three years of ink that costed less than $70 gave me a whopping $5285 in savings for very little work.
