Savvy travelers to China hopefully agree:

Many Chinese are shy & do not communicate well unless or until they know someone. While WE learn to stand up & speak freely in front of others at an early age, Chinese are more introverted.

Chinese culture is one in which people do NOT challenge authority. This custom goes back 5,000 years with obedience & loyalty to moral values very strong.

An employee would not normally ask enough questions to understand an issue, or challenge a senior regarding differing statements; all for fear of "losing face" if answers were not readily available.

CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT HERE? NOT A CHANCE...

With China's 56 designated minority groups, 'PUTONGHUA', (common speech) is of Beijing dialect; as China's official language.
(disclosure: never yet been to China)
