Chile’s state-owned CODELCO announced Friday plans to invest over US$3.2 billion through 2011, the largest investment in the company’s history.

But the record will not hold for long, as the plans announced for 2012 and 2013 are even larger- US$3.4 and 3.5 billion, respectively. Between 2011 and 2015, the company announced, total investment will reach US$16.4 billion.
