We had a discussion on here about a month ago and it came down to the fact that the NOLs can't be sold and the company has to be the same company (ownership and operationally) to utilize the NOLs. Otherwise, of course a Warren Buffet would come in and buy up all these BK company and offset his billions of profits with these NOLs and the IRS wouldn't receive a dime.

JPM could try and utilize the NOLs but the IRS would challenge it and win b/c JPM is new ownership and is a different business.
