Hi shady. I recall that the debt to IBM is oweing as a result of TMTA buying back the license some years ago. IBM gave TMTA time to generate cashflow and set a repayment date of 12/04; not enough time as it turned out.

I was thinking/hoping that IBM would take a license to LR2 in lieu of the debt. The fact that they didn't might signal that IBM has no present perceived need for LR2.

I agree that Sony is an exciting licensee in terms of potential licensing revs and it likely to use the tech in HDTVs, HDDVDs, and the PSP. I would think the PSP would use a variant of the "Cell" processor which seems to open the door at some point to Toshiba and IBM.

Hard to sort out at present.
